Vic: Three die in freeway crash

Victoria Police say the Hume Freeway in the state's north is partly closed .. following
an accident that's killed three people.

They say northbound lanes have been closed near Glenrowan since the crash at about
11.45 (AEDT) this morning.

The deaths have taken Victoria's road toll to 320 .. three fewer than for the same
time last year.

A semi-trailer carrying gas cylinders collided with three cars just outside a McDonald's
restaurant at Glenrowan.

Senior Constable MIA PATERSON says a southbound car crossed the median strip into the
path of the truck.

She says the two people in the car were killed .. and the truck driver was thrown from
the truck and also died.

Two other vehicles travelling north were also hit .. but the occupants escaped with
minor injuries.
