Fed: Casinos collecting $2.5 b from 40 million gamblers

A report has found Australia's 13 casinos collected $2.5 billion from almost 40 million
gamblers last financial year.

The Australian Casino Association reports gaming revenue was up eight per cent, although
the number of punters through the door remained static.

Total gross revenue from all casino activities was just over $3 billion -- the highest
figure since the annual survey began and an increase of almost 10 per cent since 1998-1999.
