New Berlin Office of M&I Bank Announces Silver Level LEED Certification on its One-Year Anniversary

NEW BERLIN, Wis., May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- M&I Bank hasannounced that the New Berlin office, which opened one year ago, hasearned LEED-NC (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - NewConstruction) certification at the Silver Level by the U.S. GreenBuilding Council (USGBC).

"We were anticipating certification, and we were very pleasedwhen the USGBC announced it as LEED Silver," said David Drake, vicepresident, operations support, and leader of M&I's MiPlanetcorporate steering committee. Some of the unique energy-efficient elements at the New Berlinoffice include a geothermal heating and cooling system, LED lightfixtures, automatically controlled time relays, solar lightingtubes, and a rain garden system.
